« Time costs too much!

As my gobs and gobs of readers are already aware, I missed another post yesterday. But I do have a valid reason this time (besides just being lazy). Timothy's school called at 5:45 in the morning to let us know that school was canceled for the day due to bad weather conditions.

It really wasn't a surprise since it had been snowing and freezing-rain the entire night. Plus the school shares buses with other schools in the area which means that school delays are near impossible for them to properly schedule.

Anyway, having both kids the entire day with very little to actually do tends to really limit my computer time. And so there you go.

On the plus side, I was able to take time to explore 6 stores looking for a Wii for my aunt. I had no idea they were still so hard to locate. Luck was on my side though as the 7th store I checked (Toys-R-Us) today actually had about 4 systems in stock (they had just got them in today). I always like to be able to come through in hunts like that...

Just quickly on a few 'computer' things:

- I actually used the phone (I normally hate the phone) to talk over a lot of good ideas and plans for the BotFu fight game today with an un-named friend. It's always great to get another person's views and ideas on stuff...the only down side is that my long to-do/wish list just doubled or tripled in size!

- We're trying to debug some behind the scenes reviews stuff but it's confusing just getting everyone on the same page to start the process. The problem generally comes from the fact that we have two more-or-less separate systems that need to be merged together for a few situations (but really they only need to 'appear' to be tied together -- they should remain sep. in the background).

- I've been doing 'web' programming since the early 90's and STILL browser variations annoy me. I can't believe that even HTML basic stuff like table attributes are not handled the same between major browsers...I finally took a little time to view the BotFu fight game in IE on one of my PCs and it was all goofy...I had to tweak a number of the HTML tables before it was at least usable. It really wasn't a big deal, but it's annoying that something so simple is still required so that people with various browsers can have a sim. view of your apps and content.

That's enough for tonight -- time to watch a little 'Lost' and 'Eli Stone' while cuddling with the wife (It is V. day after all!)

Kevin Marshall - Who's That?

I'm just your basic programmer. I can't spell to save my life, I'm not the greatest story teller, and I often ramble on about nothing. This blog showcases all of that!
