Nothing too special to report on today as I spent most of my 'computer' time hacking up a copy of the WordPress blog software (this site is running on WordPress).

What I ended up doing was customizing a copy of WordPress for my FalconsRule.com site. On the backend, everything is administered from the BotFu WordPress install, and all the posts will show up on blog.botfu.com.

However, if a post is categorized as a Falcons post, it will now also automatically appear on the falconsrule.com site (though I haven't started to write any Falcons posts just yet - I'll start that within the next couple of days if all goes to plan).

Today's code is not rocket science, but it's kind of cool because I can now have one central location for all my blog posts, but split out some of the categories to their own domains (in addition to botfu.com and falconsrule.com, I'm probably going to split some posts out to my newest domain kickasscode.com when I get time).

Best of all, everything is synced up seamlessly including comments and I can use botfu.com as the master blog site where all the posts show up regardless of category. So, in the end, running the various sites is a much much easier task for me than if I had to treat them all as unique blogs and just point to each other all the time.

Beyond the simple hacks I did, I also started a few bits of code for some widgets I plan to plug into my various blogs - tough I haven't finished any of them yet. I'm sure I'll share details on each of those here as I release them (and once they are ready I'll start to let other bloggers use them if they want).

Today also marks the start of a visit from a long-time friend. So there's a good chance my posting will either be very short or non-existent over the next couple of days. I know you're wondering how you'll make it through the slow times, but trust me it will be over before you know it! Smiley

Kevin Marshall - Who's That?

I'm just your basic programmer. I can't spell to save my life, I'm not the greatest story teller, and I often ramble on about nothing. This blog showcases all of that!

If you're bored drop me an email at info at falicon.com or view my outdated resume.
